You Make Me Feel Kinky In Japan…

The song inspiration for the third book in the ‘Sempre’ series ‘branching out’ is taking shape.

If you’ve read ‘Sempre; finding home’, you’ll have an idea of how songs influence my stories, so make what you will of the selection below, hinted at in the headline … :-)

‘You Make Me Feel So Young - Frank Sinatra’, and ‘Lola- The Kinks’, were already in the running, and yesterday, while having a physiotherapy session I had one of those Eureka! Moments; ‘Alphaville’ entered the room with their hit ‘Big In Japan’.

I’ve since added ‘All The Lovers - Kylie Minogue’, ‘Cracklin’ Rosie - Neil Diamond’ and ‘Being Boring - The Pet Shop Boys’.

Of course, I’m skipping way ahead of my readers, not having mentioned the musical inspiration for ‘Sempre; believe’, in which we catch up once more with Jennifer and Nélson in their Portuguese village, as well as being introduced to new characters. The songs that captured my imagination here are: ‘It’s Foolish But It’s Fun - Deanna Durbin’ , ‘Stay With Me - Genesis’ and ‘Another Year Has Gone By - Céline Dion’.
